The dummy strikes again
Thursday would have been one month that the truck would have been at the dealer with check engine light on. Got the call to come get it. Before I had the truck in my possession I got a Raptor style grill. Installed it immediately. 28 months later on comes the light. 2.7 engine. There are 2 push pins that hold the snorkel of the air filter onto the radiator cover.(slam panel) I left them out. This let the suction of the running engine curl the snorkel up blocking off the air flow. A very determined tec found the problem. He even made a video using a camera with a scope..

I'd like to see that video.

I did this once. The giant sucking sound tipped me off.

LOL. My 3.5 sucked it in completely when I was hunting down a boost leak while also doing work behind the grill. Didn't trip any codes or affect performance, but when I popped the hood to remove the partially mounted grill, seeing it sucked in like that made me jump. There's a lot of velocity there to suck it in like that.

LOL, that ain't the first time. Embarrassing?

They charged me $135.00 so I don’t think he spent many hours on it.
