While this was happening and I did try holding the window button in the full up position you went all the way up and then went half way back down while still holding the button. It has not done this again today after I finally got it to go all the way up and stay.

I have to take my wife's car in for a recall and figured I would ask the service department about the window while I was at there. I always appreciate everybody's help and have no problem working on vehicles.

I was enjoying a nice cool morning driving back roads with the windows down. When I turned onto the highway I hit the button to roll up the windows and the drivers side went all the way up and then halfway back down I'm like wtf? I tried several more times and it kept going back to the halfway point and even tried holding the button and it went up then halfway down while holding it in up position. It took about 5 miles to get the stupid thing to stay closed! Any ideas what the heck is going on? Good thing this didn't' happen last week with all that rain and flooding in St. Louis.

Mine did it after a couple weeks after bringing it home. Hasn't done it lately I probably disabled it at some point without realizing it.

"mine does it all the time. especially when I hit a bump or god forbid I am on a dirt road. The dealer is refusing to do anything. They have "re-calibrated" it 3 times and it still does it. They are refusing to do anything else stating it is supposed to happen. This happens driving in the city, and even twice while standing still.... Mine is not a simple re-calibration issue but the dealer is refusing to do anything.... I call BS

For anyone trying to reset the limits on the bounce back, don't just hit the up button. You need to goose it up a little bit at a time until it reaches the closed position. That way it won't bounce back. Then you can follow the correction procedure.

If you're having problems and the standard calibration procedure does not work try this. Put your hand on the sill at the base of the window and then use your finger to put drag/pressure on the window. Go through the calibration process with your finger dragging on the glass. This will calibrate the window with a higher resistance and should correct the over active bounce back.
