Same issue on my plat, but I just assumed the doors are a bit lighter so you don't have that inertia to get it closed. I don't plan on doing anything about it, I've just learned to give it a bit more force when closing. Both backs do this, fronts are fine, but my son always has a hard time getting front door closed fully on first try, so in general I think they all take a bit more to shut, but since they are all aligned and not leaking, I see no value in letting dealer touch it on mine.

When did you buy your truck/when was it made?

I ask because I think this a build sequence thing. My KR with a January build has this problem. It was only the driver's side rear door and it took some push to close it. You couldn't just get out and close it normally. You had to follow through with your swing when closing the door.

I have an XLT now and all you have to do is lightly push all 4 doors and they all close and latch like they are supposed too.

It seems like earlier builds had misaligned doors, so they fixed that which caused the weatherstripping/hard to close issue. Then they figured that out. I guess they crammed the extra weatherstripping into the driver and passenger seat backs causing the AC to stop working.

The truck goes in for another repair later this month, hoping they can get it working properly.

I guess I'll add this to my list of items for the dealer to check when I take it in.
Cooling Seats
ACC
Weather stripping on rear-driver side door

Hey guys,

I recommend taking your rigs to your dealership for a look if you haven't already done so. Please send a PM verifying the year and mileage of your trucks; I'll see how I can help out.

Default Driver rear door hard to shut

I would like to just fix it myself if it's just a door latch or something

Awesome! Thanks Chad!
knezat225-you pay $50k for your truck and want to fix yourself? Why?

I thought it was just me until I found this thread. Every time my daughter gets in the truck, I have to tell her to slam it. Just took a trip down to MB w the truck and the wind nose drove me nuts! I thought the door was open. Mine is going in.

Not for nothing, but my 2012 had the same exact problem, so I have gotten used to using a "little" extra effort when closing.

I too had the hard to shut issue on the driver's side passenger door. The alignment was good, no air leaks, etc. After 7 months, the door now shuts like the other three without any corrective measures taken. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this. This was a pretty hot topic at one point. So, maybe the one forum member was given correct information from his dealer when he was told it would correct its self. Who knows.

It's not just a certain door on mine. If 3 of the doors are closed and you aren't leading behind the open door to close it, it won't close all the way. It doesn't matter front or rear sided to side. It's freaking annoying to have to tell my kids to close the door right every single time they get in the truck but I also don't want to go into service and have them tell me that my truck has to stay overnight.
