Well when you pay these kind of prices, you notice when your doors aren't flush...

Doesn't matter what you pay. The people that do notice, are a drop in the bucket, compared to those that don't.

You could pay into the 6 figures, and still have panel alignment issues.

Funny you say that. I know a former tool and die for parts in the auto industry. He is blown away with my truck. If they so much has a gas cap door that was slightly sunk in or stuck out a point point of mm. They weren't going home until a plan was created on how to correct and fix all.
Apparently the north American manus. Were not the most concerned about panel gap and alignment for the longest time, then years ago one of the Japanese manufacturer put out a commercial with a marble running along the body lines of a car. After that, it was priority number one for north American manufacturers to make panel alignment perfect.
Maybe they have strayed from that again. But over other vehicle I look at and have had don't have issues.

That was an Infinity ad. They were only 2-3 years old, if I recall. It is what goes through my mind whenever I check out fitment. Still can't get over how lucky I got with this F150.

You really believe this? You're not a Ford engineer are you? No manufacturer builds a perfect car every time, but it seems all (except Ford) have figured out how to cleanly stamp and align body panels. IMHO, it's an exception with the other brands when theirs don't line up, it's an exception for Ford when they do.

I know it for a fact. I've spent 15 plus years in the auto body industry. Half of which were spent working for dealers. Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Toyota. And back when I worked at a private shop, we were the warranty shop for, Chrysler, Infiniti, Volkswagen, Volvo, Jeep.

Altimas, maximas, rav 4's, corolla's, Camry's, Silverados, challengers, chargers, jeeps, rams, you name it. Seen them all with misaligned panels from factory. Up close and personal. Even helped align many.

I really don't think that all those 2012-2013 maximas I had to paint the quarter panels on, because the misaligned bumpers and taillights rubbed the paint off to the point of rust, makes me a Ford engineer.

My comment was related to the fact that you seem to lump all manufacturers into one bucket related to assembly quality. Do all have issues, of course. Do they have them in the numbers Ford and the F150 have, I don't think so. You will never convince me of that. But we can agree to disagree.

I know I'll never convince you. I had you pegged for that in your first post. My posts are from real world experience. I lump all manufacturers because of that. I'm not defending anyone, I'm not saying any of this is right. I'm just saying its close minded, and ignorant to assume that f150's are the worst in this area, based on forum posts, and some guy checking out the panel alignment of the car next to him at a stop light.
