Meh, bad comparison. If your stove breaks, you make a ham sammich. If your vehicle breaks, you can't get to work to make money to buy stoves and ham sammiches. I'm surprised you're apparently ok with dropping 40 grand or more and hitch hiking if the motor blows during the second week? I'm sure I could survive in that scenario, but I doubt I'd be a repeat customer.
Would I be upset? Of course but I'd go from there and work with the dealer. I'm sure talking rationally and dealing with them on a major defect will get you a ride in the end.
I've had great success at my dealer with the shuttle and loner cars. I don't go in banging my fist and if they need it for a few days vs the day I thought it would take, I keep my cool and it usually works out in the end.
It's when you walk in with a pissy attitude feeling entitled that they put the screws to you! It's business, I was in sales early on in the high high end bicycle industry and I can tell you that if you walked in acting like an entitled elitist it would take a while for a repair but approach with a nice attitude and we could get you in and out. Just the nature of the beast my friend!

I didn't realize Ford didn't supply loaners for warranty work when I traded in my Silverado. I was supplied a loaner anytime I had to leave the truck longer than 4 hours and I never had to ask, it was always ready for me when I got there. I really am surprised that Ford doesn't stand behind their vehicles and consider their customers time, money and inconvenience when they can't supply a vehicle that doesn't live up to the expectations that one would deserve when they have purchased a new vehicle from them instead of their competition. This is really major disappointment that I don't look forward to if and when I may need warranty work.
I might add that other than touch up paint, bumper alignment or software update I never took the last 6 GM trucks in for work, so it wasn't like They needed a lot of shop time anyway.

I've had my truck since 2010 and have had no issues at all except for a door latch spring safety notice. Lol

Ford doesn't do loaners either, unless supposedly you have the extended warranty. One year and 25k mi my calipers are sticky, they say I can pay for a rental. Needless to say my truck is up for sale and I'm looking for a tacoma. I've had a few other issues with this truck and overall am not impressed

I keep seeing this complaint frequently.
When did the dealer all of a sudden become a rental or loaner car agency?
It's not on them to get you into a rental or loaner, it's your truck and they will fix it under warranty. Yes if you have extended plan that you paid for then you get a loaner or some of the better dealers give out loaners but it's not a right that just because you bought a vehicle from them that you're entitled to a loaner every time it comes in for work.
I have two buddies with 1500's a 13 and 15 and no Robles at all. They tow 8000lbs trailers all over with no problems.
Maybe the op is just really picky? If I complained about every little vibration on a TRUCK, I'd be here for a bit.

trying holding an electric shaver in your hand while you are driving. while your at it attach one to your foot. every time your tach goes past 2000 rpms turn it on. rams have 8 speeds. also if your going up a hill and the tach holds at 2000 rpms leave the shaver on for the length of the hill. drive around like that for an hour. now get out and walk, feel the burn of pins and needles in your feet......now do that every day, sometimes 3 times a day and this all started feb. 1st 2014... welcome to my world...some little vibration?

as someone who had a lemon ecodiesel replaced, my experience with Ram is WAY better than Ford/GM. I was in a rental for over 27 continuous days, all paid for by Chrysler. A total of 36 rental car days. They paid for all of it.
Also, I dont think vibrations in the ram are normal. Mine is smooth as glass. You either have tire issue, something MDS related, or a lemon.

its not a tire issue cause it vibrates at 2000/2300 rpms. tires don't know what rpm the motor is. also not MDS, I turn the MDS off by putting it in 8th gear on the steering wheel which locks out MDS. MDS is not active under a load going up a hill.

I've had a GMC, Chevy, Ram, and now Ford in the last 7 years and have always been put in a rental if it had to stay overnight. All from different dealers. My wife's Explorer was bought at a dealer with "loaners for owners" and we get a rental even if it only has to be there for a few hours.

There have been a couple of threads on vibration problems with the Fords, so I guess we should stay away from Ford as well. I have read of vibration problems on GM trucks also.
Well I guess it is back to a bicycle with a red flyer wagon attached to it.
