Does anyone have any experience with the dirtdog4x4 pet barrier? I've seen several threads on pet management but haven't really seen much on this. The webbing looks stout but the mounting points look a little weak and the metal bar spanning across appears to be flexing in the pictures. https://store.dirtydog4x4.com/?target=product&category_id=64&product_id=192 |
Did you ever find something that works.. desperately trying to find someway to keep my dogs from ruining my center console.

I thought this was for their safety at first. But this is just to keep them in the back.
Lay down. Stay! Works on the road trips we take with our GSD. On a serious note, something like these would work and save some money... Cover Good luck |
I did, I went with the dirtydog4x4 product. Have yet to use it. Got it for an upcoming roadtrip. Seems like it will work well. Made some makeshift seat covers out of bedsheets and put a bedsheet on the floor, trying to limit thebdog hair cleanup.

I have one of these for putting my dog in the back of the truck. It installs and uninstalls in a couple minutes and fits perfectly. Keeps the dog from climbing all over me while driving. I really like it and would recommend it!

I'd love to use this design but with a SCAB, it won't fit.

Granted I’ve got a smaller dog (frenchie), I just flip the seats up and he’s got one of those short leashes that buckle into the seatbelt to keep him put. He’s got a little bed on the floor and he just chills.

When I found myself compelled to do something in order to keep my Great Dane from trying to climb into the passenger seat of my truck, I went old school:
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...3c42113620.jpg As much as I like the idea of a webbed pet barrier, the old school metal one is somewhat more likely to keep my 140# pup in the back seat where I want him. I opted against using the friction fit components to the pet divider and am securing it with mini bungee cords. If I need to remove the barrier it takes me no more than 5 minutes to get it out of the truck. |
What are you guys doing for pet restraint in an emergency stop? I know about the harnesses that click into the seat belts, but is there something else out there you’d recommend?
