12th gen is 09-14.

I went from a '10 to a '16, like it much better, and it looks much better IMO.
Did the exact same thing, the '10 was a good truck, no complaints, but my '16 is just amazing.

As for looks, I took these on purpose, before I sold the '10.

You can see the radical re-styling of the 4x4 decal, and the over the top wheel change, going from 7 split spokes to 6 solid spokes. Huge, just huge, difference. Really huge.

Thanks for all the replies! Maybe we should turn this into a poll? Not sure how that's done...

Seems like my 2010 had a lot better build quality. The new ones feel kinda cheaply put together imo. My 2010 my new 2016.

Had an 11 EB S-crew Lariat 6.5 bed, then a 13 EB S-crew Lariat 6.5 bed. Now a 16 S-Crew King Ranch 6.5 bed. My 11 was great, except for the continual updates/recalls being 1st production year for the EcoBoost. The 13 was flawless, but I didn't like some of the electronics changes from the 11 to the 13. Otherwise. the 13 was just enough better than the 11 to be an improvement.

But neither compare to the 2016. The jump to the King Ranch level aside, the truck rides smoother, is quieter inside, and gets the best mileage of any of the 3 EB's I've had. And the improvements in TECH is amazing ! Plus, Ford finally gave us back a flat tailgate with the step by moving the handle into the t-gate instead of the stupid on top location previously used.

If you've owned a 12th gen chances are you know how crappy the AC is. It's been 100+ degrees a few days this week and I don't miss the ****ty AC i had in my 2014 screw.

My only complaint on the 13th gen is it rides too soft and floaty. I also went from the coyote to the baby ecoboost and I wished I had done it sooner.

I get what you're saying, but to me those mild styling changes added up and made a much better looking truck. It looks smaller to me, which is a good thing IMO. Kind of like the difference between the C5 and C6 Corvette, it was a mild styling change but it turned an OK looking car into a sexy one.
