WHAT!?! Even more than the ambient lighting INSIDE the truck?

Wow!

I don't think an updated website makes the information any more or less accurate. Do you need a flashy new UI to trust the information? Maybe his website serves his purpose as-is. Who knows? How come Internet Brands uses the antiquated vBulletin software for this forum? The UI is horrible and makes for a poor user experience (especially mobile) and yet we all still use it.

Au`Contraire!

What is the CURRENT US Automotive lighting regulation? This website DID say that in 2001-2002 was going to change and then dropped the ball and sent the user elsewhere. But that IS my opinion...

As for the thread: Parks + Fogs for DRLs & Fogs on always with headlights + Bambi mode.
That's what I'm thinking. It appears to be two lights, but I suspect it's actually just one.

Always on, never turn them off. Put in Morimotos to match my OEM LED headlights. They are no where near to actual fog lights like you say, more like driving lights. Truck looks so much better with them on IMO. Except if you have LED headlights and stock fogs, then they don't look very good. Everyone I know drives with them on all the time. They do help light up the ditch.

If you had actually read the article, you'd have seen (at the end) that it was copyrighted 2013.

And it all makes perfect sense to me regardless of when it was published. The nature of light hasn't changed in the last few years, and I'm pretty sure the human eye hasn't, either...

Exactly^^^

How the human eye sees the light is not going to change. At least in our lifetime.

How light is created and projected is always going to evolve and change as we dump more technology and science into it.

There are many great experts out there. Don't rely just one one guy who has the free time to make his work known either by lack of other life responsibilities (wife, kids, friends, drugs, hookers, ect). A lot of information these days is help privately. Why? $$$$$. Companies hire the brains to make them products and why would they want that information leaked?

End of the day the basics are there. Now it's just a matter of how to get XXXXX amount of light from point A to point B as efficiently as possible.

We'd all love light that could shine 1000' in front of us, light up everything in a 180 degree field of view and be the perfect color all while auto adjusting/leveling/adapting to the conditions ahead.

Some states have changed their lighting requirements to say something about “composite beam” lights. I have seen cars with 4+ distinct LEDs on each side (Cadillac for example).

I’m WA, it’s “multiple-beam” or “composite beam” terminology that is used. You could argue the F-250 light is a single composite beam assembly.

To those who say they drive with their "fog lights" on so as to provide them the ability or visibility to see deer...please try this...

Next time your driving at night turn your headlights on and place switch into park for lighting. Your "fog lights" will remain on and your headlights will go off.

If you say that the fog lights help you see deer then the deer are about 5 feet from your truck and its pretty much too late anyway.

Try it...

thank you for the deep insight on how to use the headlight ****, we were not aware that you can run foglights with just the parking lights.

You solved it!

I even made a point this morning to look for vehicles with fog lights on (god thats a loser thing ti do), I cant say a single one bothered me, infact the headlights were more bothersome. 07-13 chevy truck headlights always bother my eyes for some reason. Maybe I need to get old man status and complain about them blinding me! And rough riding LT tires! And whatever other petty thing people complain about on here!

This is ignorant. Turn off the fogs and the ditches out to the side, up to 20 feet no longer light up. That provides plenty of time to start braking. Whoever thinks driving at night with only fogs on is as foolish as the people who think they are blinded by fogs. So many Daniel Stearn wannabe's here......
