Disconnecting CAC shutters... wil I get a cel?
Hello Guys...
Definitely noticing the CAC heatsoak with the active shutters working, would like to leave them open or delete them.
Tried removing them but the motor then starts spining trying to find the "end cycle" and get a soft code.
If I disconnect the shutters electric motor, will I get a cel? If I will only get a soft code could it affect anything on the PCM?
Thanks!

I ran with them unplugged for a few days and did not get a CEL.

I'm curious why you'd want to remove them, unless you're installing one of the mega intercoolers?

Because it always bothered me how hot the CAC gor after 10 mile city trips driving normally, now that I removed the shutters (which are totally reversible btw) the CAC is warm on the “hot” side and at ambient temp on the “cold” side under the same driving conditions. Pretty big difference IMO.

EXACTLY, how are you telling what temp the CAC is??????
you can simply unplug it at the top of the radiator shroud. It will store a soft code in the memory but will not throw a CEL.

this the connector for the active grille shutters. I haven't seen an illustration of where the CAC connector is. and quiet honestly, I don't think is one i'd mess with.

So in short, you figure you know more than the engineers that designed the system, so you're removing / disabling it?
