Ford should be happy. They sold me a "new" design that's not as good as what it replaced. Now they will sell me a $75k SD as well as a new Focus or Fusion since these new diesels are not good for short trips.
I have had many Ford vehicles over the years (10-12) and this one disappoints me as much as the 79 F150 that had the tranny, and rear diff go out and the crankshaft pulley fall off. The difference was the 79 cost me $7000 and this one cost me $55000.

Short trips that don't let them get fully warmed up are bad because the moisture will not be cooked out of the oil and the emission control equipment will clog up faster. On my 05 SD because I worked it hard I had no EGR issues. Those that bought the trucks, Expeditions and Excursions and drove them like cars had the EGR's clog.

This is totally incorrect. 2015 and up are a totally new truck. New frame, new suspension. The new frame is fully boxed from the front to the rear, it's wider so the engines set farther down between the frame rails. The rear leaf springs aren't as long to reduce squat under load and minimize wheel hop.

I've been nothing but impressed with my 15 3.5 Eco lariat. Best truck I've ever owned. However, I have not towed with it yet; haven't had too. Off roading though, that is where I've been extremely impressed. Comfort, capability, and fuel mileage has surpassed expectations. 12k miles and one year it has been great. Hopefully it lasts me a decade.

Nothing wrong with that, it works.

Functionally, as in there are two frame rails and a leaf spring suspension in the rear, sure...
