I started out unplugging that, works fine. Then I thought (since I tow a 5-10 times a year, what happens if I mess that little plug in up? I researched and to no avail, did not find the simple plug. I then concluded that should something run amuk, I'd have to possibly order a replacement harness. I then found that, the Eliminator that plugs into the obdii port was a great, put pricy option. Bought it and love it.

Why does unplugging the plug by the E-brake disable the A.S.S.? What does that wire control? Why (if it does) it disable the BMS?
Inquiring minds want to know!

I bought the S/S Eliminator today. With the sale price and forum discount it was only $76.50, worth every penny. I'm going to be adding a trailer brake control soon thought I may as well put the Eliminator in while I have things apart.

I think the start-stop function can be turned off by programming BCM body computer.

I just read a post here about FORSCAN having to disable the Battery management system to disable the A.S.S. Sorry, no link.

FYI.... posted long ago. It is a listing/comparison of the various methods to disable or bypass the A.S.S feature. I don't think too much has changed since this was originally posted.... Chose the method which works best for you and enjoy no more A.S.S.

AFAIK, it disables your trailer brakes and makes the truck think you have a trailer connected.
I bought my truck for towing, messing with this connector is not an option.

I like the auto stop eliminator. The A.S.S button still works, it no longer reactivates upon start up. This is the pigtail that goes in the dash behind the button. I have a HaulGauge in my OBD. Weighs truck, trailer, payload, and tongue weight.
