Disable auto start/stop for good

Mixed feelings
I have had it for a year and a half on a 2016 F-150. I end up disabling it because it’s just unsettling, as others have mentioned, I keep my whole body attuned to how the truck feels, after having had other ****ty cars in the past.
That being said, I could probably be convinced to get over that if not for the timing issues, it needs to give more time before engaging. If I could adjust it from 1 second or immediate shutdown at the stop sign, to engaging after say 5 seconds, I think I’d be good. It just feels horrible when I catch it and it restarts in the middle of a shutdown, there is no way that is good for anything.

Starter
But think of how many times it starts and stops over the course of a drive. Now what makes this happen...the starter. Ever price one? For my two cents it's permanently deactivated. What little gas it uses at idle outweighs the cost of a starter ever few years.

Ford is most likely only concerned with the reliability of their vehicles within the 5 year/60,000 mile warranty period, I don't know why anyone would trust that reliability would be a top priority for them once it's no longer their problem--use the cheapest materials as possible to meet CAFE standards and ensure reliability for the warranty period.
Seems like a lot of people here trade their trucks every few years, so it isn't really a problem. But for those of us who plan to keep our trucks for around 10 years, I think there is a genuine reason for concern. Plus the AC/heat becomes nearly useless once the engine cycles off. For the past 1.5 years I've just been hitting the button every time I get in, but I'll be disabling with Forscan shortly.
