Lightbulb DISABLE Auto Start/Stop

I found the easiest way to disable the annoying auto start/stop on my 2018. Just unplug the accessory plug attached to the negative battery cable.

According to a Ford engineer (I live near Ford headquarters) I talked to at a car show nothing else is affected. Works like a charm.

Disabling the current sensor turns the battery state-of-charge management off, effectively returning the truck to an "old school" alternator configuration where they simply chase voltage. This may mean a very minor drop in fuel economy, as well as potentially slightly reduced performance (since, with the SoC management in place, they can effectively disable the alternator at WOT, reducing load on the motor).

I have to disable it as I install a relay isolator and second battery for all the equipment on board. I've never noticed a difference.

I live in Texas... the idea that the AC will remain sufficient with the engine off is laughable. Disabled.

I always disable that crap; it's useless in TX and how I drive. If I stop, it's basically for a second, since I don't drive in traffic, and mostly time the traffic lights. It only discharges the battery and actually wastes more fuel. It's designed for prolongued periods of idling. Anyway, I test-drove a truck yesterday, and it had a huge button on top of the dash to disable ***. I don't see a big deal hitting it every time I start the vehicle, so will leave that battery plug alone, but it's good to know that disables it permanently. I'm VERY glad these trucks don't have cylinder deactivation, which there's no way to disable on vehicles which have it, like the Rams and Chevys.
