DISABLE Auto Start/Stop

Kills me how many people are not coordinated enough to control start stop. learn to control it, don't let it boss you around like a wife and you might like it! I hated it when I had my jeep, after reading up and figuring it out, its easy. Now I would miss a vehicle without it

I wish I had it on my '17. I can see the mpg drop (litearally) when sitting at a stop light... and in my area, I sit at a stop light 40 times a day.

However in my case, and in the case of millions of other people who live in rural or semi-rural areas, auto start/stop offers no measurable fuel savings. It's something to be ignored at best. For example, my commute to work each day is around 25 miles one way, and quite literally once I drive out the driveway in the morning, I often do not come to a complete stop until I reach work. I have one 4-way intersection that I stop at for a few moments on the way, but other than that I go with the prevailing traffic and so rarely hit one of the few red lights.
Call me a inflexible 'ole geezer who doesn't like change, but I like my vehicles running until I shut them off. I will pay the extra $7 per year in gasoline to have that.

I will need to figure out how to disable (so I don't have to press the button ever time I start the truck) on my '18 RCSB. Like others have said. my drive in is at 0500, is about 26 miles each way and very limited traffic. IF I can press the button to turn it back on, I would rather it be off till I wanted to use it rather than the way it is now.

I gave A.S.S. a chance but after using it for the first 3 months I had the truck, I still found it just as annoying as it was on day 1.
I didn't see any change in MPG between the first 3 months of using it and the months following. While I'm sure it does save some gas, I didn't see any savings.
First, I I did the jumper solution then about a year later I did the Forscan solution. I prefer to not think about it at all. Turning it off with Forscan removes all traces of it.

I really wanted to like A.S.S and gave it a chance since I got the truck in January. I do quite a bit of city driving, suburb driving, not so much highway. With the A.S.S enabled I was seeing a pretty consistent .2mpg increase. Yes, .2. For that little increase I disabled it with Forscan along with some other tweaks.

I still say Forscanning it away is the best option, if you need to. And, for most people, just Forscan the *** away... let the BMS do what it does.

HAs anybody else noticed that the start/stop feature gets enabled when you fully press the brake? But, if you lightly apply brake pressure, just enough to hold the vehicle from moving, the feature is never activated. So, don't push the brake pedal to the floor when stopped and it won't engage!
