Differece between the 36 month warranty and the ESP.

I don't get why someone would pay for an ESP prior to the factory warranty running out. Yes, I know you'll pay a few extra bucks, but why would someone pay for ESP coverage when the first 36 months you're covered by Ford?
Can someone enlighten me?

For the most part, I don't see why either.
Someone could be worried that the pricing would go up substantially in addition to the $100 extra you would expect to pay at month 36 or before 36,000 miles. Also, one may be worried that you'll forget to get it until it is past 3/36, in which case it is likely too late.
As I get a little older, I admit I worry about that second one sometimes!
Does anyone know if you buy the coverage for say 6yrs/75000 miles would it in essence extend EXACTLY the same coverage as the the 3/36 bumper to bumper has to 6/75?
I'm not referring to the factory 5/60 powertrain part.

Best you can get is PremiumCARE. It's close to the bump-to-bumper coverage, but not the same. Take the seats, the ESP will cover the drivers position sensor and the power seat motors, nothing on the heating element or seat covers. Seems to be more mechanical and electrical coverage.

So in other words, Ford has looked at what has failed historically and doesn't cover those areas as well.
