How about if we keep it on topic. A lot of us don't care if you use spotify, apple music, or have a garage band playing while riding in the bed of your truck (though I would like to see that). The question is does/did Sirius have a recent issue.

so read the second line then. It's valid that some new cell towers muck up the signal from terrestrial sirius broadcast - which is what you actually use more often than not if in cities. So you might have issues - in cities.
Out in the country it might not happen - you're on actually sat broadcast and might not be next to one of the new towers.
Meanwhile get away from Sirius - is still solid advice.

I have read a few places that T-Mobile's repeater towers are causing issues with SirusXM reception. A few research papers have been published recommending against using the 600 MHz frequency band for mobile communications due to harmonic interference with many other approved bands. SiriusXM is on S-band (2-4 MHz), but operates in the lower end near 2.4 MHz. It may explain why there have been more complaints recently. I believe T-Mobile purchased rights to the 600 MHz spectrum to expand on 4G LTE/5G.

Sirius sounds ****ty in my F-150 but it sounds great in my wife's 2018 Jeep Wrangler, and it shows album art. Someone one here said Ford uses an older antenna technology while everybody else is switching to the newer antennas which sound better and allow album art. IDK if that's true or not.???

I'm out in the country with wide open sky's and lose signal at times. What made me really ask this is that it is now cutting out in areas it never did before while passing in the shadow of a few buildings, and they are not very tall, just slightly more than a single story, which leads me to believe that the sat signal is coming from further south that it was previously. I will look into the SSM for the antenna though, maybe it will help.

It drops alot and sounds like crap.. almost like the speakers are underwater. HD FM sounds 100x better.. I've let it expire on 4 vehicles now because the same issues on all of them. The only thing I keep is the traffic updates.

I have the replacement antenna, and for the first time today I had the radio lose the signal on a street that it has always worked on. My wife's Escape has been dropping the signal all over town.

Did you install the new antenna yourself, or did you have the dealership do it? Always hesitant to have the dealer do anything that may be unnecessary, especially if it involves prying things open and apart. Wondering what this entails exactly as far as installation is concerned, thanks.
