Default Deals on 2019 truck orders

Hey all, I've been in the market for a truck for a while now, and know pretty much exactly what I want. Lariat 2.7L Screw with tech package, moonroof, and tailgate step. Since it's a very specific build I haven't been able to find a 2018 on the lots. I have been exploring pricing on ordering a 2019, and have some questions. The dealer is saying he is unable to give me an invoice for the build, since it hasn't been ordered. This is the build and cost from him:
019 Ford F-150 Crew Cab Lariat - $47,985
Magnetic with Medium Gray Leather
502A Package - $7,050
Twin Panel Moonroof - $1,495
Tailgate Step - $375
Technology Package - $1,195
Destination/Delivery - $1,495

Base - $59,595
Lux Chrome Discount - $1,500
MSRP: $58,095

"If we sell the vehicle for $55,905 plus tax, title, and conveyance of $498. We require $1,000 down to order it and there is $1,500 in rebates, the out the door price would be $58,578.83."

In terms of negotiating through email how would you work the numbers? Shoot for 10% off MSRP then minus incentives? Seems there is tons of room for negotiating here.. just not sure how to approach it. Any advice would be great! Also anyone who has ordered a 19, what kind of deals are you getting?
Thanks,
Kyle

That's a flipping ripoff and your dealer is FOS. Find another one. I was able to get about $1800 under invoice on an ordered 2018, which was a minor refresh model unlike the 2019. One thing you can do if you have an X-plan is work the numbers on the build to order page on Ford's site (if it has been updated for 2019), and then work a dealer price from there. I think there is also a 2019 build sheet somewhere on this forum if you do a search.

Also, make sure any down payment is refundable. Some dealers don't even require one.

That is kind of what I figured.. were you given an invoice number at the time you were negotiating?

I built mine on the Ford X-plan site which does give the invoice. I negotiated from there and beat X-plan by a few hundred. You don't need dealer to get an invoice price.

You can go on the ford build site then click chat or call them. Tell them exactly what you want on an 18 and if it is built they can tell you where it is any where in the country and they send you the window sticker.

Build it on True Car or NADA.com, they will give you the invoice price.

This is for a 19 F-150 SCREW 4x4 5.5 foot bed.
I would shoot for a purchase price of $53,200 or less. That would be basically buying it at invoice and splitting the holdback with them. You will get the better of the incentives now or at delivery. I am curious on the rebates they are showing you now. Ford does not show any general rebates on the 19 F-150 so I wonder if what they are showing you is specific to you (private cash). I would guess there will be some general rebates on the trucks once it is built and sent to your dealer. The 19s are not even scheduled to begin production until October sometime. 18's are still rollin off the line at this point.

Thanks! He mentioned the 1500.00 in rebates, but I wonder if that's just the Lux Chrome Discount he is describing. I unfortunately don't have any private cash offers, so I'll have to ask exactly what rebates he is talking about. That 53,200 would be before the 1500 dollar incentive or final price before TTL? Seems like a solid general rule is invoice minus incentives, which would apply to a leftover 18 on the lot also?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's just a standard rebate on all Lariats. I got it for the Sport package on mine, and it was on the Window Sticker so you should expect to get that on any Lariat build as standard I would think.

Kyle,

Do yourself a favor.... go into your profile and put in your location.

Otherwise, at least tell us where you are located. It matters. A lot.

You might be surprised at what you'll get from others here if you provide more details on your situation. You've described the truck in detail....

Here in TX, we'd laugh at a deal like that.... and the dealer would laugh all the way to the bank if you made the purchase!

See Top's thread for more on how to save $$$.
