<heavy sigh>
So - Ford sells 850k F series. let's go with 700k F150 (I can't easily find a 150/250/350 break out)
They operate 3100 dealerships in the United States - that's 225 units per dealership.
So - if someone has 131 examples of the same truck....that's pretty close to the number of examples a random dealership would see. It may even be more, considering the 10spd is only in about 30% of their F150 sales (in 2017 model year)
I don't know why we post when one "schmo" makes a random comment.

The most annoying thing for me is the trans almost always skips 2nd gear on start off. It's a 1-3 shift and under certain conditions the truck lunges forward. My tuck had about 9 k on it now. I said it before and I will say it again the 10 speed is not an upgrade over the old 6 speed. This transmissions is to get an extra half mpg out of truck.
As for wide spread failures. If there were really bad problems we would see it here first. Just like the ford six. Oh no diesel. We knew right away those trucks had issues when they first came out. My guess is some reflashes would reall help

Yeah I bet there will be a software update soon.
despite popular myth - one of the bigger reasons for the move to 10sp is not fuel econ - that can be done with numerious gear options - both trans and rear.
The other big advantage is so the exact same assembly is used on all RWD platform veichles. IE the same trans in all mustangs regardless of engine - and all F150, Expedition, Lincoln _____, . . . . . .
cost per trans goes down - mpg across the board goes up or stays the same - but costs to manufacture goes down slightly.
