Default Dealer Says Must Have Camber/Caster Kit for 2015 F150 Leveling

Guys,

My Dealer claims that in order to do my 2.5" BDS Level for my 2015 Lariat FX4 that I need a camber kit. Says even with alignment the truck will pull and tires will wear unevenly. The kits are on backorder. How critical is it - I am seeing lots of lifted and leveled 15s that I suspect do not have this kit?

Further - could it not be installed after the leveling anyway (I realize may not be most convenient)?

Any help would be appreciated!

I don't have a level kit, but haven't heard anything of needing the camber kit if you get one.

If you decide to move forward with the level, I would look elsewhere to get the service done. Sounds like that dealer is looking to squeeze some bucks outta you.

All the camber kit does is add cams to the lower control arm bolts to make it a little easier to tweak the alignment.

Havent heard much talk about anybody needing the camber adjusted, only toe. If they would do a before and after camber check would tell you. I doubt you need it, ALOT of people have done the level and got an alignment and only toe was needed. I did see a post awhile back that had a pic of the cv joints and I noticed the cam washer installed don't know why.

I fought the same battle, ended up the camber bolts where "NOT" needed. They kept pressuring me saying I needed it, took it down to another dealer and they aligned the truck perfectly without camber bolts.

BTW I have a 2.5" level kit as well.

There is no way to know. Every one will be slightly different.

You have to install the lift, put in on an alignment machine and see where the camber and caster are. It probably will be ok.

As mentioned, the kits help make alignment easier. If you get creative and spend a little more time on the alignment, the kits are not required.

The tradeoff is do you want to spend a little more money on parts, or a little more money on labour?

If camber is fine what "more time on the alignment" are they doing? The only adjustment you have are the tie rod ends for toe. There is no caster adjustment that's built into the design, most vehicles have not had that for years.
