A good clue that was the issue is in the owners manual.

I don't know which page, but in the towing section it states there will be a slight vibration when loaded or towing. Doesn't mention why, but stating that it is normal.

When you load, or do anything to change the stance of the truck, you change the pinion angle, whether its out of the transmission or the connection at the differential, either way if that angle changes, it can induce a vibration.

Good find for your issue.

Not necessarily. I've had a vibration since I bought my '16 Lariat Supercrew last May. Dealer has been over everything - balance, road force, check driveshaft. Two days ago, the tech who has been trying to get rid of it took a straight edge to the outside of the tread and found BOTH rear tires are out of round. Not a lot, but enough to pickup. Moved both tires to the front and vibration was in the steering wheel and steering got stiffer.

Make sure the tires and rims are actually not out of round. No matter what you do, an out of round tire will vibrate and you cannot get a true balance.

Sure, after doing mods/own maintenance,if anything fails they have to prove it was caused by something you did,but even if they in the end cover the failure, they will not make the process easy for you, make you jump through a thousand hoops, and drag you through hell.
IMO these vehicles cost way too much money to be rolling dice on possibly voiding your warranty.I myself love and appreciate a factory effort/what the engineers design in factory form. But if your not and your a dice roller, give er.
I know that's probably not what your looking to hear, just voicing my philosophy.

And I agree, the vibration is probably caused by the said mods, thinking it's not is just you not wanting to believe it.
All the best in getting the issue sorted out and I hope you come out on top.Good luck.
Good Post!
