Default Dealer hookup on new KR

Picked up my new KR last night. Seems to sit lower that the 2015 lariat I originally purchased two weeks ago that had issues and dealer took back and replaced with this. Big difference In the feel of this KR leather.

Nice truck! I'm planning on ordering a '16 and this is the first time I've seen a picture of one with the 6-1/2' bed that got me to thinking I might want that too... I've had an '04 Supercrew 5-1/2' since new and always thought the 6-1/2' bed on the previous generation looked awkward somehow. Not yours.

You think the King Ranch leather feels different in a better way?

Congratulations!

I always thought the 5 1/2' beds looked too short. I just got rid of the 15 lariat where the leather felt fake. The KR leather is so nice to touch, it's like I'm sitting in a baseball glove. It will only get better with age provided you take care of it. I also like that all the seats are wrapped in leather and not just the parts that touch the skin like in the lariat. Looks so much better in my opinion.

A couple Saturdays ago I test drove fairly identical King Ranch trucks - one with 5.0 & sunroof and the other with Ecoboost & no sunroof. I did like the leather A LOT. The verdict is I'm going with the 5.0 and sunroof (didn't think I wanted it but I do...) - but not that truck in particular. I'll be ordering the '16 - I'm 99.9% sure it will be Oxford White with the Caribou two-tone. (I *COULD* deviate and get the Blue Jeans w/Caribou....but that's that 0.1% chance... )

What issues did you have with your Lariat that helped the dealer move you into the King Ranch?

I went into the shop a day after a trim piece came off and one of the mechanics noticed the seam sealer went out of the channel and did not cover one of the welds. They started looking for another truck and the KR was the closest to my loaded lariat within 700 miles. The KR was 450 miles away and they did a three way dealer trade to get the truck and have a happy customer. I'm happy they didn't want we to deal with warranty on a 62K truck I had for 48 hrs. Most ethical dealership I've ever delt with.

That is really nice. I'm at my purchasing dealership now to discuss 6 paint defects, 4 of which I consider major.

What paint issues do you have? I don't have any paint issues that I've found. Tailgate sticks at times and a couple loose trim pieces that appear to have broken clips. I'll get those checked out at some point.
