Dealer can't /won't fix My Truck
Help Me teach the Dealer how to fix My truck .
My 15 3.5 Ecoboost with 20k miles has a power loss and the dealer says nothing is wrong. I notice the power loss when climbing hills , or passing on the HighWay. Putting it in sport mode at the stoplight races doesn't have the same oomph that it used to have too.
Truck runs fine when driving easy at slow speeds and no codes have been thrown, and if You had never driven one of these before , You wouldn't realize anything wrong .I'm guessing it is a boost issue and thought the dealer would be able to see and monitor that somehow. A mechanic supposedly drove it and couldn't find anything wrong . I asked for a mechanic that owns an ecoboost , to drive it LOL .
Now they want to charge Me for the diagnosis ,because "finding nothing " is not covered under the warranty.
Shouldn't the Dealer have a way to measure boost ?

Sometimes I kind of get this feeling with my 2016 2.7 eco boost.
When I do feel this way you can "reset" the throttle response through the gas pedal.
I forgot the exact process but is it on this site somewhere. turn key to on position, press pedal to the floor and slowly let if come all the way back up. repeat 4-5 times. then start. I can hear a very slight beep when I press the pedal to the floor and release it.
This helps most people that feel there is small power loss. Hope this helps let me know how it goes.

Did they check your air cleaner/box to make sure nothing was obstructing air flow (dirty air filter)? Did they check the fuel filter to make sure its not clogged?

I don't think it's a throttle issue , as it seems to run out of power under a heavier load .
Air cleaner is new, could be a dirty fuel filter or a fuel issue even though I use top tier gas.
I figured the Dealer would be able to see any of those issues even if they couldn't replicate it when test driving .

I've never heard of a dealer charging a diagnostic fee for finding nothing while still under warranty. Mine suffers from the Tcase ticking issue and I've taken it to 4 dealers - all of which said they "can't hear it" and that it was normal operation.
None of them tried charging me a fee for running out with the tech to try and diagnose it.

I've not looked into boost pressure on a 3.5 yet, but on my 2.7 boost a boost pressure value is available with my scan tool. It is very likely that a boost value would be quick any easy to evaluate on your truck. Perhaps your dealership would at least do this? Quick, easy, and might set your mind at ease. And for the record, most modern turbo vehicles will illuminate the check engine light if the boost falls below a certain threshold.

The Dealer is giving the truck back to me , after having 2 of its best mechanics drive it and find nothing wrong .
They decided not to charge me .
I'll drive and monitor it better , so that I can explain what it is doing , and maybe You can help me figure it out .

Are you sure your butt dyno isn't just used to it?
If you think the power is off, take it to a performance shop and have it dyno'd, see how it compares to other stock gen 1 3.5 ecoboosts.
