Dead Truck FOB. Way to manually start the truck?
Got into a pickle last night when my FOB decided to die on me when i returned to the airport. Thankfully after messing with the batteries for about 20 minutes and breaking a plastic piece inside the FOB, i got it to start. I briefly looked over the manual and to my surprise, it does not look like we can manually start a truck that has push to start. Am I wrong in this discovery?
Also, if anyone is wondering, if you unlock your door with the key inside the FOB, the security system will go off for about 10 minutes. Thats a real thing.

What year truck do you have? Assuming since you joined in 2016 you have 2015, 2016 or 2017. Not sure about 17's but for the 2015 and 2016 open the door under the radio stack. Pull everything out including the rubber floor mat. There you will see the indentation where you place your fob. It will read the RFID chip in your fob. Place it and start the truck. In the 2018 it is under the cup holder.

The information is in the OM. Guess you overlooked it. For my 2015 there is a rubber cover in the front console that you remove, then put the remote into a recessed area.

Dang. I saw that in the manual last night and couldn't make sense of it. But just tried it with my dead fob and presto. Learn something new still even after owning the truck for 3 years. Thanks for the help guys

Right.
It always amazes me how people can spend $50,000+ for a truck and not read the manual. Then they can't figure out where the jack is, how to lower the spare, are surprised when they can't add gas without the spout that they didn't know about...

Does anyone know if/how this works on an XL with the 40/20/40 seats (no console)?
Thx.
