The rear hop has happened to me as well. Our roads down here in MS are terrible due to the red clay that shifts regularly and tears up the asphalt. I've only experienced one that was truly dangerous going about 65 mph and the back end jumped sideways a few inches.

Will a simple shock change solve most of this? A set of Bilstein 5100s?

Well, if it happens in the winter when the roads are slick, it could be very dangerous indeed.

My 2016 FX4 will scoot sideways a bit going in a straight line over railway crossings. My 2010 FX4 did it too, but not to the same extent (i.e. the scoot was not as pronounced).

I think it's the lighter rear end due to the aluminum panels.

Truck worked great with 1000lbs of wood. No dangerous suspension here, 2" level kit didn't help with rake..Dangerous Suspension??-photo195.jpg

Fox 2.0 $200 helped my 16 XLT 3.5 5.5 a lot... instantly I lost that side hop. SHOCKS

Do You have a 2X or 4X ?
Which fox shock did You use ?
I called Fox, and They don't have a shock for the 15/16's yet.
The fox shocks that stage 3 list's for the 14 and newer , is actually for the 14 and older (according to Fox )

Im not sure who would have said that from Fox. Heres the link right from their site for the 2.0s on the rear. These are the ones Im going to try out here in the next couple weeks. I will be sure to update with whether or not these help. They are a pricey shock, but will be well worth it if they correct this potentially dangerous issue.

I have a 4x4 and used 985-24-029 from Stage 3 Motorsports.
2009-2016 F150 4WD FOX 2.0 IFP Rear Shocks (Pair)

Part Number:FOX985-24-029-2

You might msg the Stage 3 vendor here and see if there are any current discount codes. As Im sure everyone has seen a million times.. this $200 pair of shocks may not be as good as Bilstein 4x4 5100's whenever they come out .. but my truck has lost it's side hop so I am happy. The ride is a bit firmer in the back, which I prefer over mushy, but not harsh at all.

+1

I did the same and for roughly $200, I'd suggest the upgrade to anyone driving a 2015-2016. It made a huge difference!
