Also, my Mom had a CVT Ford Freestar. She put lots of miles on it, never one issue with the transmission. Decent mileage, but not great, I think she got high 20's mixed driving. I agree with others, driving it was a bit odd, but you get used to it. I'd rather have a manual, but that will never happen. As long as I am forced to drive a tranny I don't want, I would prefer the better mileage.

When we bought the wife a used Freestyle a couple years ago, I did alot of research before hand. From what I remember most of the current ones at the time could only had around 240ish HP. Obviously things change and improve, but that was the transmissions that were being used at the time could handle.
