You don't really notice how curved this grille is until you start trying to fit a flat emblem to it. "Flat," of course, if you don't count all the stuff on the back of the emblem that requires notching of the grille...

I made one cut I regret, on the upper side of the emblem. For any that follow: for a vertically-centered 9.5" emblem, it is not necessary to cut the center horizontal bar 5th from the top. Don't do it.

Looks hideous, I know. I've more or less got the emblem seated the way I want, though, and I'm going to apply some JB Weld to smooth the cuts around the emblem (which is why I've got it masked), and then start prepping for paint.

Yesterday I installed the camera housing in the grille and painted the honeycomb black. I filled the area around the camera and around the emblem with repair putty. I would probably do it differently if I could start over... I may grind that out and repaint. The emblem is just sitting in there. Today, I'll paint the surround Magnetic if I can get to it. I was going to send my emblems off to @mbullock, but I don't know if time will permit that.

Interesting. I wasn't aware they made a full mesh version. I prefer the lights and the lower portion of the Paramount design to the GalaxyMoto, and had I seen the full mesh model when I started shopping for a grill, I might have bought that one instead.

While I like the FORD letters on my Paramount, I would like to find a plastic fabricator to build a single bar cover with accommodation to mount the blue oval. I think t would look great with the mesh background. Would also keep me from having to remount my front camera, which I'd prefer to not have to do again. I tried fabricating something like this using the center bar from my Lariat sport grill, but it didn't work out.

Great work so far.

I was watching some of the threads that used the paramount or galaxymoto replacement grill, but in the end, felt that having the big "F O R D" on the front of a non-raptor would make me look like a raptor pretender.

But... the one thing I've never liked on the 2015-2017 was the big (chrome in my case) bars in the grill. I liked the honeycomb I had in my 2004 (and that's in the 2018 sport) with the Ford emblem in the middle, and really like where this mod is going. Looks great, while still looking like it could have come off the showroom floor as stock (which I consider a good thing).

I played around with gimp (aka linux photoshop), and am thinking I'll paint the border Blue Jeans to match my truck (a lot of ppl left it the original black, which I didn't care for) and add the logo like you are doing. I was looking at the plain honeycomb you started with, but wasn't sure how that would look with the camera in the middle by itself - the Ford emblem seems to "hide" that well.

Can't wait to see your finished product.

Can you provide a list of parts and sources when you finish?
