Default Custom Paramount Grille build

I've been sitting on this Paramount grille for a few weeks. At first, I was trying to get a full FORD letter set, but I wasn't having any luck and I wasn't convinced it was the look I wanted anyway. I decided to do something different, and I started the project tonight... actually, a few days ago, if you include amber-ing the yellow LED grille lights.

Here's the grille with an OEM 9.5" emblem I bought on eBay. The emblem will go to mbullock for paint, along with the tailgate oval. I really think this is the correct size emblem for this grille.

Why mask around it? You'll see below.

I completed masking the border. The honeycomb will be satin black, and the border will be Magnetic to match my truck. Paint arrives from automotivetouchup.com tomorrow.

If you guessed that I was masking the emblem so I could cut the s&%t out of the grille, then you were right. The emblem has a lip around it that means 1) I need to countersink it into the honeycomb, and 2) there's a bit of room for error. I used a Dremel to take the grille down about 1/8"-3/16". I need to cut some more to get the emblem to fit. Then, on to fitting the camera.

I'll keep this thread updated with my progress.

Are you sure this is a Paramount grill? I have a Paramount and this looks like the GalaxyMoto grill. I bring this up because if someone wants to try a similar project, they won't want to try this with a Paramount since it doesn't have a full mesh grill.

This grille is a Paramount 41-0167. It is full "mesh," as the photos show.

I put it in the Raptor grille thread. I'll add photos when I install them in the grille.

OP, I was just looking at emblems and ran across this on eBay. If I go the same route as you, I may add an LED back light to the front emblem. Im not sure if it will show well on the mesh grill but it isn't expensive and may set it off well if you have white/amber lights elsewhere on the front end!

This is a really cool idea. Anxious to see how it turns out.
