Just curious, what do you gain with the Ford pass app on Sync? Health reports? if so they are rather bogus. I didn't see much use with the app when plugged in, wonder if I mis understood it's use.

Since we have the update ahead of Ford official release, I wonder if they need to update the Ford pass app for compatibility.

I am still running the Sync3 v1 and FordPass has done the exact same thing to me the last day or two. I just reinstalled it on my cell a couple days ago, yesterday and today, I searched for new apps on my Sync3, found FordPass, then it disappeared on the Sync screen, cell then gave me a message that FordPass had issues and to disconnect cell from Sync then add it again, got same result. Then got a different message on FordPass on my cell saying it had issues and to call a number that was displayed. Just said forget it and uninstalled the FordPass from my cell, never saw a real use for the app anyway.

Agreed. I had issues with the Ford pass app while on v1 and when it did connect I never saw any value out of it. Since updating to 2.2 I haven't even messed with it. Have been too busy being in awe at Android Auto.

In general the Ford app link apps are poor and unstable including Spotify.

Update went flawlessly. Installed the new blue USB hub and CarPlay works great.

I have 2016 F-150 purchased in late November 2016 with Sync 3.


Question: How do I tell if I have a Nav. or non Nav. version?

I loaded up the nav version and all is working. Don't have my USB port yet to test car play. Will report back when I do.

Look at your window sticker or look for the nav icon (it says nav) on the bottom the the sync 3 screen.
