BTW the lastest info:

Android Auto is available on 2017 models with SYNC 3; owners of 2016 models with SYNC 3 are required to perform a software upgrade (Available Late 2016)

Apple CarPlay is available on 2017 models with SYNC 3; owners of 2016 models with SYNC 3 are required to perform a software upgrade (available early 2017) and purchase a hardware upgrade through your dealer.

I seem to have lost voice control. If I touch the voice button on the steering wheel Siri pops up, but doesn't hear me. Also the voice control button under settings is greyed out. I haven't unplugged my phone to see if it returns. I will try that when I head out to lunch. Anybody else noticing this?

You don't need to have the new USB hub in order to update. You just can't use CarPlay until you have the hub.

If you are under CarPlay you no longer have voice control over the vehicle...its all Siri only. As for Siri not hearing you I would check your phone setup and reconnect it. Your phone must be connected via USB and BT.

This is one of reasons I don't like CarPlay.

Still rocking this morning, I love this! Voice commands through steering wheel work! I need to play with it a bit more to learn all the functions.

Is there a way to change what is on the main AA screen? There's some saved locations from Maps and missed calls that I want to clear but can't.

Default Sync3 Update Not Working

When I put the Flash Drive with upgrade files in the USB port all that happens is a message saying "Device Detected" and nothing else happens...Anyone know what is going on?

Update, I was able to successfully update. I loaded on another flash drive (Pony). The initial attempt was tried on a Micro SanDisk Cruzer USB drive.

Note: It didn't show the software version was updated until after I shut the vehicle off for 5 minutes and restarted.

Make sure the flash drive is formatted correctly and that there are no other files on it.

The only reason why I evenly remotely want to enable CarPlay is so I can use my iPhone's navigation on my F150's 8" screen vs having to look at my iPhone's screen.

Other than that I will probably never use CP.

Make sure you have the autoinstall.lst file along with the SyncMyRide folder. That happened to me as well. Also, I had to turn my truck off for about 5 minutes or so to get the second part to install (Non Nav install). Hope that helped.

Yeah, even without AA or CP the sync system seems much nicer from the little I've played with it. I noticed it pronounces names better.
