Current SYNC 3 and CarPlay/Android Auto Information
I have 2.0 not 2.2, but I can tell you I have this same thing happen. Every once in a while it will jump straight to maps, but rarely. I need to play a little and see if maybe it only jumps to maps when I actually have navigation going or something like that. It's a little annoying, but works fine none the less.
Non-nav update completed. Everything still works in the truck. --Haven't been able to get Android Auto to connect after enabling it in the settings, but I'm guessing it's a problem with my phone.-- Android Auto works, I needed a better usb cable.
Thanks jm061. Christmas has come early.

Windows 10 requires an authentication key. So yes, you can distribute the raw binaries, in fact Microsoft does this themselves. Without the authentication key it is useless anyway.
With this, it is fine because the only people that can use it are SYNC owners and it will be free to them anyway. This is not a violation of the terms of the license.
For those that have loaded the Nav version, how long did it take to update once you plugged in the USB thumbdrive? Does the vehicle need to be powered on the whole time, or will it continue if you turn off truck and leave it?
