The native mac unpacking tool doesn't treat filenames correctly. If you look at the USB drive, you likely have some files called SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-AA.tar.gz and similar... Those files are supposed to be in a directory named SyncMyRide.
You need to use a tool like 7zip (my recommendation) or manually rename the files and create the directory structure.

 

Mine updated this morning just fine, no difference that I can tell.

Something to note, the version of sync on the 4.3" screens is also showing sync3 2.3 on the new 2018 I was in today. I wanted to look it up because the screen is higher res and it looked way different than the previous 4.3" sync systems I've used across the entire Ford lineup.

 

Cool, I was just asking him to see if i could help. Ford recommends 32GB, so thats what I used. Obviously you dont need that big of a drive. I just dont see how some have issues, its pretty simple.

 

I used a 16gb stick. I'll try a 32gb and I'll check on the directory "syncmyride" thanks for the suggestions.

 

Make sure all 3 directories get on the flash drive. I almost missed one.

 

How many GBs is the new non-nav version? When I installed nav v3.0 it was only 1.5 GB. Just curious.

 

I still can't figure out why my owner.ford.com account isn't showing an official update available from Ford for v2.3 but your guys' are showing up? I'm non-nav.

 

I believe Ford does this in "waves", so that their IVSU/FOTA CDN cloud services don't become overloaded.

My 16 non-nav has not shown up yet. Neither has my father's 17 nav. However my friend's 16 non-nav appeared last night, as did another friend with a 17 non-nav.

It still shows my 16 non nav version 2.0 as being up to date. I do have the original 3.0 that Livin posted installed though.
