Yes.

Google Maps is 10x better than the stock Nav, especially when navigating to a POI you haven't saved yet. Last week I was looking for a PepBoys or Autozone in the area I was in, and it was painful to try and find one via the factory system. With AA, you just push the button and say "Find AutoZone", get prompted with a list, and select one to go to. Much easier!

I can't wait until they integrate Waze! Real-time police reports on-screen!

Especially after stock nav gets outdated. I would spend most of the time driving through open fields on my 2010 Expedition. Hell, I think it was outdated when it was new!

Built in nav is a useless option for me.

The built in nav is already so out of date for me I can only find what I need 50% of the time.

Need google maps, it is continually updating every second.

Built-in nav got me and a couple buddies stuck on a snowmobile trail last March. MFT in the 15 said it was the right road...and for all intents and purposes it was...in the winter though, it just wasn't plowed. No signs pointed to it being a snowmobile trail. We found out about 3 miles in when the snow got deeper and deeper and moguls started showing up that we were no longer on a road that was maintained.

Strangely enough, Google Maps said to take the same route. We needed an off-road wrecker to come and pull it out almost 2 miles...cost me 500 bucks. We were the 5th group to do that in a week. Can't trust nav all the time.

I've used the factory navigation numerous times, even on a long trip in my sons 2013 Fusion (Wisconsin to Colorado) and it worked great every time.

Same here - never had an issue with it so far! Very pleased with it.

Its not the navigation that is the problem, its the interface that sucks. I have owned 2 cars with factory navigation. The first was a CRV. It worked great if I had an exact address. But if I didn't, it was horrible. When trying to find the nearest Walmart using the search option, it will take 3 minutes for it to search the database. Then it would pull up Walmarts in California when I am in Dallas. It was stupid, I would have to scroll through 20 pages of Walmart to find one in Texas.

I also have factory on my BMW X5. It also sucks. If I had to search for something, I better have an exact spelling how they have it in the database or good luck trying to find it. In one city, it might be called BW3, or another city it might be called Buffalo Wild Wings. In the same city, one location could be spelled Wafflehouse and Waffle house in another. Why does that matter? Because you if you are new to a city, you could be driving 10 miles to a Waffle House when there is a Wafflehouse two blocks away. It puts doubt in your head and you can't trust the navigation to find you the right location. However, give it an exact address... it will eventually get you there.

With Google Maps, it is intuitive enough to correct most missed spellings and find you a nearest location. Its smart enough to pull only the nearest location and not somewhere in Alaska. It has free updates and it updates continuously. Its not a DVD or a HDD that I have to pay for annually. In Dallas, we have new highways being constructed every year. Not only that, traffic updates on Google is top notch.

With all the tech in cars these days you would think they could just put google maps as the factory nav. Why car companies think they can do it better is beyond me. It couldn't cost that much more to license than pay development costs to do their own nav.

My sync works great for the most part but it's missing a major highway loop extension in my town that was finished over a year ago.
