jm061 hooked me up with 1.1 way back when. fixed almost all of me BT pairing issues.

glad he has the 2.2 and has some folks testing it.

One nice thing about it being in his hands is, when he is done testing and happy it will not brick your radio/nav:

YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO GO TO THE DEALER FOR A $$$ UPGRADE!

just buy the usb hub online, dust off a USB memory stick and 2.2 will be yours.

(all this assuming 2.2 doesn't come over as a wifi update)( 1.1 never did and dealers would refuse to update customer even when they were having problems )

I been testing Apple Carplay for about 24 hours now and here are some of my observations. Carplay is very nice especially the messages and music apps. Apple Maps works good but sometimes it is a little slow in locating me. Once it does locate me, it is quite nice. I had some issues with Pandora and Spotify not working but got them fixed by unplugging the phone from the car. When I re-connected the usb cable, both Pandora and Spotify worked fine. Not sure if it was an iPhone or Sync 3/Carplay isssue. iHeartRadio has worked perfect the whole time. Siri is really accurate when taking voice commands with Carplay.

You can listen to Radio stations or SiriusXM when Carplay is running. Sync 3 Nav does not work while Carplay is running. Climate controls haven't changed. I did not have to re-pair my iPhone over Bluetooth after the update. Also, Sync 3 system now feels a bit slower to start when the car engine is turned on.

Overall, I am very happy with Carplay. The only two things I would really like to see in the future is wireless Carplay feature enabled (if that's possible by Ford) and I would like to see more apps work with Carplay like Google Maps, Waze, and Google Play Music (I won't get my hopes up for those apps).

I just got an email from Walt Sweeney Ford, Bobby in parts, that they have the GJ7Z-19A387-B modules in stock. He said they got 25 in today, mine is on the way.

If anyone is interested, Walt Sweeney Ford Parts has the GJ7Z-19A387-B (white light) module; http://www.waltsweeneyfordparts.com/
I saw it online and called them to verify it was in stock, parts guy said they have about 20 on hand right now. He said the 'blue light' version is still on back order. I completed my online checkout and got a shipping notice about an hour later.
