A Big Phat THANK YOU to jm061 for putting together this thread!!!
I bought my 2016 F150 screw 4WD XLT (non-nav) back in late September, and the inability to get AA on my display has been a nasty situation between Willis Ford of Smyrna (Delaware) and me. Ultimately their salesperson either lied, or was not properly educated on sync when the vehicle was sold to me. My opinion is that it was a little of both with it being more the former and only a bit of the latter. My frustration of making a nearly $50K purchase and not having one of my three basic requirements not met was so incredibly frustrating. Anyhow, enough b*tchin...
I have been watching this thread for a few weeks now, and finally grew a set of cojones big enough to take the risk of bricking my APIM. I followed the readme.txt file to the letter, and after getting a good USB cord, the magic has happened.
While the over-all operation is a little clunky, I cannot be happier that I can finally get nav with real time traffic from google maps on my display. Ford's roll-out of V2.0 has been poorly managed and poorly communicated in my opinion, and you have saved the day.
I took your poll and again want to say thank you for the help!

Another +1 and thanks post! I had a 2012 XLT before, and was happy enough with the integration, and apple car play / android auto was not a selling point with me at all when I traded in the old F150 and got a 2016 XLT (the great deal was the main point!).
It was just really nice being able to spend 60 bucks out of pocket, and feel like I was able to get a really nice technology upgrade on a new car. Thanks for all the directions, and to everyone that posted part numbers, and places to source the parts at. Great community!

Just checked the owner.ford.com website and it's showing 2.2 available for download for lincoln vehicles. You can always add a vin for a 2016 MKT to your account then access the file. Then remove the vehicle from your account. There's still 2016 MKT's sitting on dealer lots so it's east to find a vin.
I`m sure every person who`s already downloaded this unofficial update, will download it again when the official update is released.
I only wonder what if any problems will arise after updating to the official update.

Yes, it`s frustrating but, i`ve waited since mid 2016 for the official update and i`ll continue to be patient.
I hope all members are having a great weekend.
