That's not how it works but please post a picture. Car play will require a software upgrade.

 

I noticed today that I don't have "radio text" on. I went into settings and I try and slide it to the on position and it just slides back to off. Is this a common issue?

 

Not for trucks that were built in July or later, and left the factory with v2.0.

 

I have a post July build XLT with the 2.0 software and replacement hub. It adds the CarPlay icon when you connect a phone to the new hub.

 

Thats awesome. I just drove home my new '16 SupCrew XLT FX4 yesterday only to find out CarPlay didn't work, despite the sales guy telling me it would. I actually chose to downgrade from Nav because of the CarPlay option so I'm really looking forward to getting it up and running.

I assume I've got the software 2.0 because it does have the android stuff My hub is also blue backlit... Which HUB part no. did you get and put in?

 

I ordered HC3Z-19A387-B (BLUE BACKLIGHTING) from FordPartsGuru.com. They sent an email saying that it was back ordered, but then they shipped it 2 days later. I think that is kind of hit and miss on when they become available.

Try resetting the module: Select radio > Hold the power button + the right-seek button at the same time for up to 5 seconds.

This did not fix the issue. The radio rebooted, music continued to play, but going back into settings the "radio text" option could still not be turned on.
