About a week after the installing the upgrade. I already had the hub installed the dealer installed it for me.

I upgraded using the links posted on the forum. The whole process took less than 30 minutes. My radio immediately showed the upgraded version to be 2.2. I just checked the Ford Owners site a few minutes ago and it also shows my Sync3 to be updated to version 2.2 as of January 10. The My Ford site still doesn't show that the update is available either at a dealer or by download.

 

I put the part number into a search in eBay and it brought up the listings for it, which was Walt Sweeney

I just pasted the part number in Google and it directed me to the Sweeny site. I got the part within a few days for $59.86 including shipping.

 

I updated successfully today to V2.2 and I now have Car Play. I already had Nav. Now I notice that if I want to use the vehicles nav I have to unplug the iPhone. Is anyone else having this issue?

 

Thanks for the info. Mine is showing updated now as well after enabling wifi hot spot on my phone and connecting to it instead of my home wifi.

 

I just tried to update mine via wifi and it is not available

 

I have sync3 2.0 with nav, I read through the first 40 pages but didn't see any info regarding upgrading 2.0 to 2.2. What changes are there and is there an update available yet for my unit?

 

I read all 158 pages. If you have 2.0 you don't need to update is what seems to be the case. All you need to do to enable Carplay is replace your usb hub to one of the parts listed on the first post of this forum.

If you want Android Auto you don't need to do anything.
