So I have a 2015 F150 with Sync 2 (MFT). I just ordered what is needed to upgrade to Sync 3. But I am curious about the USB upgrade that is needed for Sync 3. I see the part numbers and images everyone is posting but they are quite different than mine. My connector currently has a line in jack, sd card port, and 2 usb ports. The ones I am seeing posted just have 2 USB ports. Where are these other items located? Thanks

They don't have line in or sd. You can still use the old hub. But if you want get CarPlay you will need to switch hubs by spicing in a new power connector. WPT1239. Yellow goes to pin 1 and blue goes to pin 4

Sorry, late to the game, and this thread seems to go on forever. I have a '16 Screw, Lariat 4x4. Built early June '16, and have Sync 3, Version 1.0 How can I update it? Via wifi....? I have the wifi activated. How do I initiate it, how long does it take, and does the truck have to be on?

Thanks.

You cant get Version 2.0 yet for the early builds as it has not been released yet. it will take aproximately 60 mins, and the truck needs to be running so there is no interruption of the updating process. (truck powering down due to battery saver) The only other way is to buy a new 2.0 APIM....but thats the expensive way to go.....

Anyone have an extra HC3Z-19A387-B hub? I have a 2.0 and would love to get it updated for my wife's phone.

Having to run the truck for an hour to upgrade to 2.0 seems retarded, there should be a setting somewhere for use with an external charger to just leave it in accessory mode until it's done updating and function testing is done. '16 lariat fx4, is my 1st new truck, 2nd new vehicle acquisition. At first they said by 8/31/16 they would promulgate the 2.0 update but they are being derpy, here's to hoping they hit the "by the end of the year" target they moved the goalpost to. My APIM got flashed at the factory on 12/17/15, still reports v 1.0. :-( dgaf about carplay but might modify the usb to hopefully exchange it for a type c connection so I can get 3 amps instead of 1.5, idk if the stock ports can even do 1.5a haven't tested, just been using a 12v to 5v 3a type c charger but that will be useless with 2.0 and android auto, need some more amps out of the port to keep up with heavy drain.
