Spoke too soon: just received a "backordered" email on the blue module.

No ETA on when they will be back in the system so I just switched to a white one, which they had in stock.
Doesn't really matter that much. Once my compartment is open it's bathed in the white light and I run with the iPhone in the compartment with it closed.
If I find it really bugs me, I may just open up each module and see if I can do some swapping components. Like put the usb "guts" in the old housing and swap the LED lighting. It's usually pretty easy to do if you have basic soldering skills, but it all depends on what it looks like inside the case....

I have been told (Tasca) that on 1/20/2017 there will be ~600 more blue LED hubs released by the supplier. They are not accepting any more orders until that date. I imagine the backlog will only grow as the official update comes out and everyone (or their dealer's parts dept) who wants CP to work will be looking for this part... or else people will just start using the white LED hub...
So its 21 Dec 16 and i know its not the end of the year, but pretty close and according to Ford still no release date for Sync 3 V2. I just downloaded the V2, but was going to wit a day or so to see if Ford was going to release their version of the software update.
Can someone that has done the nav version of the update please tell me the file size. Like I said I have already downloaded it and then unzipped the file and then transferred it to my thumb drive, but just wanted to make sure that I did everything correctly. According to what I have on my thumb drive the file is 1.6GB

I did the update and now show the correct version. In the settings "enable Android Auto" is there but I don't see anything about Apple Carplay. I'm assuming that just won't show up at all until I have the correct USB installed?
Where did you order from? Went to my local dealer this afternoon and they said they were backordered til February for them! Google led me to oemfordpart.com and no backorder notice from them yet *fingers-crossed*

I'm in Canada, so it may be different for you if in the states.
My understanding is carplay does not show up until a compatible device (IE: iPhone through and authorized USB port) is connected.
Android is a little bit different form what I can gather. Just need 2.0 and a regular old usb...

Sounds like the extracted files folder layout could be wrong... should look like these screenshots:
