Current SYNC 3 and CarPlay/Android Auto Information
I'm having some trouble with the Sync 3 update and was wondering if anyone could help. I did the update on a 2016 C-Max (non-Nav) and I'm having voice recognition issues after the update. Whenever I press the button on the steering wheel, it says "voice recognition not ready". However, when Android Auto is connected, Google Now works. Other than that, the update seems to have gone okay.
The update may have gone awry only on the first part because it did not tell me it was finished updating after around 25 minutes. I had to shut the car off to refuel but I left the USB stick in. When it started up again, the first USB stick wasn't recognized at all, even when I plugged it in again. I went head and put the second USB with the other part of the update in and it completed normally and showed the update complete message after 7 minutes.
My build number after the update is 16280_PRODUCT and Gracenote is 1.1.1.615 (NA-0010).

First, a big THANK YOU to JM061 for all of his hard work on this project. Without his efforts, we would still be running 1.0 on our vehicles. Thanks to his efforts, we all have a usable update for our entertainment systems that works with minimal effort (IF the directions are followed).
I downloaded the file, extracted it and placed it on my jump drive. OOPS. Forgot to unzip the second compressed file so it didn't work. Well, after unzipping the second file into the root directory of the jump drive, I went out on my lunch hour, plugged the drive in to my factory installed USB port and cha-ching!, I was upgraded to v2.2 in about 20 minutes. I then got home this morning and decided to try the CarPlay on my truck. I have a 2016 F-150 Lariat that was built in 02/16. I have the USB ports that light up blue so imagine my surprise when I plugged in my phone and everything works. I had to delete my phone from the bluetooth system and re-pair it, but everything seems to work perfectly at this time.
After reading through this topic, I was surprised by how many are having to upgrade the USB ports on their trucks to the ones that work with CarPlay. Mine was built almost a year ago and has the upgraded ports in it already. I wonder if there is an option package that came with everything needed for this to work already or if I am one of the lucky ones to not have to spend the extra money for the new hardware. Oh well, I would have spent it if I had to, but now that's money for other goodies.
Again, thanks to JM061 and all the others who were beta testers, mirrors, and hosts for the files needed for the distribution of the files.

Mobile apps aren't carplay, can you take a picture of your carplay screen?
To clarify, the issue I'm having is with the Sync system's built in voice recognition and not my phone's voice features (which would be Siri for Apple or Google Now for Android). Normally the Sync system voice recognition would allow me to say "tune Sirius channel 16" or "call mom". It almost seems like the voice recognition commands didn't get updated or that part was incomplete.

spoke too soon. CarPlay didn't work when I went out tonight. Even mobile apps say it needs to be plugged in, but it's charging and the phone thinks it's running CarPlay.
Pin 4 is negative and pin 1 is the positive input. Here's a pic of my old hub powered by a 9volt battery. LED's only light if the power (top) board is present and providing power. The hub is designed/manufactured by unwired technology.
