Just updated my Sync3 system with version 2.3 I used my 500g external HD did not have a 32g usb, but worked no problems. The system voice is updated more softer, slight font changes but best part is Google Carplay! Amazing system love the real time traffic and Google Maps integration much more accurate. Spotify is great. Love asking Google forthe latest hockey scores and current weather forecast as im driving.

There is no such thing as BlueTooth CarPlay. There is WiFi support, but Ford does not support it. There's some after market head units that support it. BMW was the first brand to offer WiFi carplay this year. So maybe one day we will see it, but not for now, USB only.
Now that Sync 3 has been rooted successfully, I like to think wireless carplay is possible. Wifi ports arent blocked by a firewall in Sync 3 as many people have speculated, Ford cheated and took a more simplistic approach by simply disabling the drivers or commenting out some executables.

Im not a programmer. If I was, Id be in my basement all winter working on this. If you go back a few pages in this thread though, I posted a link under a picture of Ralph Wiggam, the link is for an Apple WWDC session that explains how carplay operates on an in depth technical level.

That knowledge, plus the new Sync 3 jail break, plus an understanding of Sync 3 hardware leads me to believe wireless car play is possible.

Sounds more like a hardware issue. Dealer time.

did you change your wheels or tires recently? expected wheel rotation settings in the APIM or calibrate the PCM and or TCM with a tuner? those things will cause that to happen.

It's been tuned but that was 6 months ago or longer. Haven't changed anything else

Updated Sync 3 to 2.2 then to 2.3 from 1.0 and installed the new apple car play compliant USB hub. I can see the android auto preferences however when I connect my iPhone, no apple car play? Not sure why. This is the hub I purchased and installed. I believe this is the correct part for a 2016 f150. PLEASE HELP!!

Yes. I tired both ports. Same behavior. I'm thinking it has to be something with the hub.

Is your iPhone at least a 5? Carplay will not work with a 4.
