Yes i have my truck hooked up to a wifi so im thinking it might have updated itself over wifi, since the new version of SYNC it also showing on SYNCMYRIDE site.
And also i tried to update it a few times over a USB but it would take up to a 1h and 45 min before i finally gave up and unplugged the usb.

From Ford:
May 22 2017 4863 - 2016-2017 Ford/Lincoln – SYNC 3 v2.2 – APIM Programming Installation Failed Error
A ‘Installation Failed Error Code: MEM_ERR03’ error message may occur when programing the SYNC module to v2.2. Programming tips: The USB flash drive must be 32GB formatted to exFAT. Do not remove the USB flash drive from the media hub until the final installation message is displayed (non-Nav vehicles have two installation complete messages). Perform a complete ignition cycle by turning the key off for 5 minutes (open/close driver’s door) which is critical for a successful installation. If these tips are ineffective, perform a SYNC master reset (Settings > General > Master Reset), ignition OFF for 5 minutes, ignition ON, and insert the USB drive again to complete programming. If the message is still present, no additional repairs should be attempted. Engineering is aware and is currently investigating. Monitor OASIS for future updates.

InTheWind: Yes I have the latest android auto on my phone and also the latest sync 3 update...Whatever is on my phone wont show up on my sync 3 display...only when I get in the truck my android auto on my phone comes on but not on sync 3...what is wrong? I tried via USB and via bluetooth still it wont come on the sync 3 screen...
While your phone is rebooting Tap AA on your sync screen and enable AA in settings.
Reinstall AndroidAuto onto your phone.
Plug your factory usb to your phone, then into your vehicle.
If AA does not start, click on AA on your phone to start and follow the setup instructions it gives you. It will ask for some specific permissions you need to allow.
When I switched to an LG G6, i needed to follow the setup and allow some permissions on my phone that previously were not used on my older G3.

Just got done upgrading my Sync 3 v1.0 to the current v2.2. After installing the USB hub, I was caught a little off guard that Sync didn't like the USB plug on the left hand side, but worked perfectly on the right hand side. I just left the Truck in the garage, not fully running but set to accessory on, and in under half an hour it was updated and ready to go. Apple CarPlay worked without any issues whatsoever, and I am extremely happy with the install. What does grind my gears is when I called the local Ford dealer (Red McCombs Ford service\parts in San Antonio) to purchase the USB hub, they told me flat out that the upgrade wouldn't work and basically refused to sell me the hub (ebay fixed that quick). Then again, I shouldn't be surprised.
Thanks to everyone in this 335 page thread for all of your help, tips, and tricks. Couldn't have done it without you!

Sounds exactly like my situation. Did you notice any issues with yours after you stopped the download early? I have not seen anything wrong with mine even though i did stop it. Just hope that didnt mess something up. Also, what size USB stick did you use? Thanks again for the response! Glad Im not alone on the long download times. I just hope my wifi picks it up soon. I turned on automatic updates last week thursday, so hopefully within a week itll grab it if I didnt mess anything up by removing the memory stick.

I purposefully purchased an Onn brand 32Gb USB 2.0 memory stick from Walmart due to the recommendations here. I, too, accidentally interrupted the install as I didn't notice it was actually updating at the time. It just said it would continue once I installed the USB drive again, which I did, and it did.
Long story short, everything worked out fine after I found out that the left side USB port doesn't play well with Sync 3. The right side USB port worked just fine though, might be worth a try!

I am sure this question has already been asked and answered numerous times...
Yesterday I had the dealer update my 2016 F150 XLT 302A wo/navigation from Sync 3 Build 16280 to 17011. Everything appears to work correctly - voice recognition works just fine. Haven't tried Android Auto and I don't use Apple CarPlay. Update appears to be successful: Sync 3 screen shows the new Buld installed and both the Ford Owner and Oasis show the new Build have been successfully installed.
Why is the Gracenote version missing? The Gracenote version was there prior to the Build update. Is there anything else I should check to make sure still works?
Again I'm sure this question has already been answered and if so, please point me to the post.
