I ordered part # GJ7Z-19A387-B at my local dealer just before the holidays, it arrived on January 3rd and I installed it without any issues on my Sync 3 version 2 unit. It was a perfect fit in terms of size. When I called the dealer at the end of December to check on my order they did tell me that both part numbers (the white and blue models) were on back order but my order arrived a few days later.

I've ordered the HC3Z-19A387-B from my dealer and it's on back order until late February. My dealer didn't say anything about it being discontinued and I was very specific about wanting that exact part.

Yes, some have been fortunate to have the site update right afterwards the upgrade by doing cheching for upgrades now or turning off auto update and then turning it back on.

Help Please
Thank you for all the wonderful work done on this. However, I followed every detail of the instructions for the non nav install. Everything happened in sequence and as expected. Once I completed and left my truck off for 5-6 minutes and turned it back on I received a message onscreen that I'd received a software update. I missed most of it because I was trying to dig out phone to document as I did with other steps. So I thought great I'm done. My sync version is still 1.0. I waited 5 minutes. Turned truck off for 15 minutes. Turned it back on and let run for 20 mins. Tried to connect AA and nothing different, nothing working. I installed both zip files and got the Updating Software at the top of the sync screen both times with the USB. Thoughts? Thanks again.

Guess I will find out Monday as mine is en route. Typically manufacturers when they come out with a new part only change the last A/B/C etc. Does it looks like there is a way to swap the faceplate/surround and make it fit.

No I have not installed a new USB HUB. My understanding is that is for Apple Carplay only. Also the hub shouldn't prevent the software update only the connectivity to the phone. My ford owners page indicates I updated today however the update history only shows the original. The only non standard thing I recall was when I went to delete the usb files after the first zip I noticed the readme file was on the usb but everything seemed to work ok. Do I need to try again?

After further review, the dealer clarified that the part number GC3Z-19A387-B "is" still available. So he ordered one for me. Says its the correct number for a 2017 Expedition. The part HC3Z-19837-C worked, but it didn't fit the dole in the console. It was for a 2017 Super Duty. Very confusing I know. Hopefully the one he ordered will work.
