Default cure for harsh shift in the mornings? 10 speed?

I have complained before and seen others complain about the harsh 10 speed shift for the first shift on a cold start. my question is what is ford's fix for this if you complain about it?

I'm willing to bet firmer shifts are normal when it's cold. Automatic transmission fluid doesn't provide good lubrication when it's cold. This is why Ford has transmission fluid warmers on all the 10-speeds. Every Honda I've had a statement in the owners manual that says when the transmission is cold shifts will be delayed and firm.

um its NOT normal, its a very hard shift. I also turned the trans to manual mode and manually selected 2nd gear. that was when the truck was cold and had only been running a few seconds. The truck went into gear so hard its something that could damage the drive line.

its also been reported here by others. its a common issue with the 10 speed. But frankly I am sick of it and think I want it fixed.

I don't know if its the culture here but the last time I posted about issues with my truck the first thing people did is tell me it wasn't happening and attack me. Some problems on these truck are real and just because its not happening to you doesn't mean its not happening.

If it is cold outside, it is absolutely normal.

I’ve always tried to let my 2018 warm up a few mins in the morning/afternoon. Seems to help, but I’ve always tried to do that on my cars. My focus (manual) never cared but my mustang with a 5.0 (manual) is a dog when real cold. Slow clutch and tight reverse. I don’t if it really helps. But growing up my dad always let his 351 idle for 5 mins before driving it. Sweared by it, he put 450k on that van.

I'd advise to look further into that myth. One to start with, is googling: "Do I need to warm my car up in winter?".

We no longer have carburetors.

A: chill out.
B: you haven't stated whether or not it is cold outside.
C: if the tranny fluid temp is under 30 degrees, this is absolutely normal.
