I don't understand how anyone could be stupid enough to remove a piece of safety equipment just to fit a set of tires.

Form rules over function I guess.

Question. When I installed front steel bumper I removed front crash bar piece about 4 inches. My installer said it was still safe because my new bumper was full steel instead of aluminum. Is this true?

Bumper is a fabfours vengeance.

Same. It makes me very angry as both a Ford owner and employee that Ford didn't put these in the 2015 SCAB. I even looked at the CAD to see if I could buy them and add them now, but they're not bolt on.

As another ne of the guys that shows up with the big heavy tools, for the love of all that is good, don't do it. I've spent a lot of time in the rain getting feet untangled from the pedals of vehicles.

Look at your legs, now look at the tires you want, now look back at your legs, which set do you like better.

Your installer has no idea what he's talking about.

Really - explain? How does 4 inches of steel do a better job than 65 pounds of steel.

I am asking seriously as I don't know.

That question reminds me of a friend of my father's who, while he was trying to figure out how much water it would take to raise the level of our lake by one inch, asked, "how many square feet in a gallon?"
