Is there already existing wiring to plug into on the XLT? On higher trims is this accessory power or always on?

There is power for the lights in the overhead console. But if you park outside like I do, Homelink may enable someone to get inside from the garage by breaking into your truck.

On my 2005 Dodge, Homelink is disabled when you lock the car with the remote.

That is one more reason I got the key chain remote. I always worried about that with the old clip on the visor remote.

If the truck would shut off the power when it was turned off or locked, that would be fine.

New F150 last night, funny on Trucks with an almost $50k MSRP no garage door opener...??? But I do have a Chamberlain that allows me to open with an app on my phone (not as convenient as a remote) but it also allows me to see how long the door was closed or left open and sends me an alert if it's open for a certain amount of time. I like the idea of scavenging a homelink from another car and hiding it in the truck somewhere though... Great ideas.

This is what I have and it's so nice to have. When someone needs to go by and feed the pups, I can let them in wherever I'm at.

It is possible to wire it to the dimmer/ overhead console switch, then it should only work when the switch is on.

Or mount the module somewhere else powered with a switched circuit. It does not have to be in the sun visor.
I'm afraid my truck will never fit in my garage no matter how much I clean it out anyway.

Cadillac and Saab used to have them in the bottom of the rearview mirror as well. It was a very weird design choice IMO.

Hence the reason I suggested tapping into an ignition-on circuit early on in this thread (reply #12).
