Here here. Our Toyota Sienna has them on the mirror too, and I hate that location!

This! I've bought used visors with Homelink or Car-2-U on fleaBay, removed them from the visor, and installed them in some of my cars that didn't have them. Easiest would be to find one from a same-year/same interior color F150 and buy it. It's a 2-wire hookup - power and ground.

You can even make the choice to tap into a circuit that's hot only when the ignition switch is on. Why? If you park your truck in the driveway the module is unpowered - nobody can break into your car and then open the garage door.

The above is also a big advantage to having it on a key ring. Besides being able to open the garage without having to go thru the house.

How many different doors will the Genie work with? I have a 30 year old Craftsman. It has dip switches.

Except in the case that you have the keyless start - then it becomes a PITA to have to take the key-ring out of your pocket! It's amazing how quickly we get used to the fancy stuff!

If you have dip switches then a compatible remote would pickup the signal from the old remote that came with the unit (assuming you still have it). You'd have to see if the unit is compatible - there are other key chain remotes too.

Keep in mind that rolling code technology was designed to stop people from parking on the street and picking up your code when you hit the button - which is what they can do with dip switches. Not necessarily a reason to replace, but definitely a reason to be aware of your surroundings when hitting the button to open it.

I'm still using one of these http://www.lowes.com/pd/Genie-3-Butt...Remote/3689002, works pretty good and its universal. I can move it from car to car or move it wherever I want in my truck, but it usually stays on the visor.

Sorry to go off topic...
They have been putting it there since 01.

Buy on of these for $31.97 and never look back.

I bought a Chamberlain one of these and I love it. It is on your key chain so even if you are not riding in your truck you can open the door. You can start opening the door inside the house so you don't have to wait for it to go up.

You can program 3 different doors.
F*it I will get this. Thanks for idea.

If you want the sunvisor w/ the garage door opener, instead of $500.00 go to

http://www.powerstrokeplus.com/ford/..._name=sunvisor

and only pay $129.51 (+ shipping). That gets you a brand new GENUINE 2015 F150 visor with illuminated mirrors and garage door opener.

The part # in this link is FL3Z-1504105-GA (thats the grey visors)
