Default Cracked foglight lenses, are yours cracked?

I just noticed a few weeks ago that my foglights are cracked. I have a 2015 with just under 12k miles. I bought the truck new in July 2015. I noticed the cracked foglights while washing the truck. I hate to say that I have not been washing my truck very often so I can't say how long the lights may have been cracked. As soon as I noticed the cracks I asked my brother-in-law about his. I used to work as a salesman for Ford and sold my brother-in-law a new truck in September 2015. He said he had noticed his several months earlier but assumed the lights had been cracked by a rock or road debris. Both our trucks have both foglights cracked and look nearly identical. The cracks are horizontal. Some are very short and some go all the way across the lenses. There are no signs of chipping on the lenses. The lenses are still very clear but the cracks look more like you would see on very brittle, dry, sun-beaten plastic. I took it to my dealer who took photos and sent them to Ford. Ford agreed to replace my lights under warranty mostly because I had less than 12K miles. I mentioned to my service advisor that my brother-in-law had the same issue. He told me that Ford would not replace the lights for my brother-in-law if he had more than 12k miles even though he had owned his truck for 3 months less than I had mine.
I am glad and surprised that Ford replaced my lights under warrany. Either way, I wasn't planning to put up a fight since I had no way of knowing what caused the cracks. But learning that my brother-in-laws truck had the exact same cracks made it worth a shot. If your foglights are cracked, go see your dealer right away. I have suggested to my brother-in-law that he go to the dealer even though he is well over 12k miles. I hope they will warranty his too.

Take a closer look at your truck and reply to this thread so we can see if this is an issue worth bringing to Ford's attention. If you can get a good photo, post it

IMPORTANT NOTE: I asked service if they had seen many instances of this yet. No comment, incidentally the replacement foglights are on backorder.

I noticed both of mine are cracked when I installed LEDs a few months back. They are not letting water into the housing though but that could change this winter with all the heat cycles they will be going through. I have a 2016 with about 16,000 miles on it.

I think there many people on this forum that would send you a take-off set from when they installed Morimotos or another brand. PM me and I'll send you mine at no cost, you pay shipping

Edit - Just read you got them replaced under warranty - sorry. I was too quick to help!

You should see your dealer. If nothing else, Ford will see a trend.

Thanks anyway. I actually plan to replace mine with something custom too. But I have had a few problems with my truck and insist on Ford standing behind their product. If my brother-in-law can't get Ford to replace his, I plan to give him my new ones.

I have already had my front bumper replaced, my speedometer replaced, now my foglights, and I still continue to have ride quality issues, and transmission/driveline issues. That's part of the reason I waited so long to lift my truck. I knew I would not get any help with my issues if my truck was lifted. Incidentally, my truck rides 100 times better with my lift and larger tires!

I put Yellow Lamin-X on mine right after I brought it home. No issues so far.
