There should be no lemon law here. Ford is willing to fix it and the fix should only take a few days at most a week I would think.

Is it an unfortunate thing? Yep, especially since it was missed when the OP took possession of the truck. But it will be fixed and shouldn't happen again or cause any further issues if it is fixed properly.

He will get the body work done and ford will throw him a bone as a sign of good faith. The option of either an extended warranty or extended service plan. Not getting a new bed or new truck. No buy back, no inflated trade in offer. Sorry. Just the way life is.

If it were mine, I would prefer that they weld up the crack (someone with experience welding aluminum, of course), verify all the panels alignment, then spray it with liner (Toff or Line-X).

Don't disturb the outer panel.

Extended warranty would be perfect. Just something to make you not feel like you got screwed. You end up paying the exact same amount of money for a damaged vehicle, there has to be something in it for you. its not like he bought the truck out of the discount bin at Walmart. A can of soup at the grocery store has a dent, it goes for less lol

So you are saying his dealership body shop is not competent to repair his truck to like new condition?

I'm sorry, but all of you guys who think a truck is tainted and immediately worthless over some body work, you need to get a grip on reality. You should not have bought an aluminum truck then if you dont think any body shops are worthy. It is not a Lamborghini made of carbon fiber. It is a Ford truck.

I looked pretty easy to pull the side panels off the bed on All Girls Garage when they made the 15 F150 Raptor Clone. It only took 30 minutes to build the whole thing

I'm saying, I'm sure the body shop is more than capable of repairing this, I'm also saying that they should, and likely will do something extra for the guy to save face. Never said its worthless. What I'm saying is the OP will probably be checking every bend and fold in that truck as long as he owns it.

I came from the Vette world too. Former c5 owner. All the waxers always cracked me up. Thinking their cars would melt it they saw rain and would be severely devauled. The best part is sales ads that tout "never seen rain" like it's some sort of accomplishment. Unless you did a museum delivery, I'm pretty sure your car has seen rain at some point in its life whether it be on a transport carrier or sitting in a dealership parking lot

I drive the **** out of that car! Lol it doesn't have a scratch, and it's as clean under the hood as it is on top.but it gets beat within an inch of its life every time it goes out of the garage. The only tell tail of the abuse is the coat of rubber I can't get out of the rear fender liners
