A couple of thoughts as a new owner

I've bee Driving my new truck since Tuesday and I thought I post a couple of thoughts comparing my 05 to this 15.... BTW They are all good:)

I am totally impressed with the ride of this truck! my 05 drove like a truck since day one, not that I minded... It is a truck. But this one has a greatly defined ride X10. Almost feel like driving a Lincoln Town car.

My 05, If I looked in the mirror while driving I could see truck bed moving and no it was not loose ( my 95 did it too). The 15 does not move at all..nothing.

Truck is very solid and very quiet on the road.

Fit and finish on mine is great. Doors are aligned, roof seam has no problems, A little surface rust on the pig but not enough to worry about I can always paint it ( but it is very dry here so rust is Not an issue).

I know some on here have had some problems which I guess can be expected with so many built and things do get missed. Granted I only have 400 miles on her but it's off to a great start!

Also MAJOR TIP!! For the new guys taking delivery. If you have the productivity screen... go the fuel mileage and reset it as soon as you get your truck. At first I was a little disappointed when I saw the 10.6 MPG but I noticed the engine had 7hours drive time and 3 hours idling from the factory. I reset it and now it is showing 20.4 MPG ( 391 miles on the clock). Just topped of the tank and the DTE said 724:eek:. Most of my driving is on country backroads and I keep my foot out of it. But the power is definitely there if I need it. Oh and BTW love the sport mode feature. I have played with it a couple times only. Nice feature for the mountains but it's really flat where I live so I don't need it here.

Overall I have to say that FORD HIT A HOME RUN ON THIS TRUCK:thumbup::thumbsup:

Glad to hear from another happy owner.
I love mine.
One of my employees had to do a very kong drive in it today, towing the entire way.....and she will drive back tomorrow.
She is so impressed by it she wants her own.
I have let many drive it to see what they think, and every single one of them came away extremely impressed.
The guy i buy bulk fuel from asked how it did towing and i told him it is amazing.....then let him take it for a spin while hooked up to my fuel trailer.
He said it handled that way better than his 2500 gmc could.
Said when his gmc lease is up in 4 months that his next truck is going to be an F150.
That naturally aspirated 5.0 pulls hard.....the brakes are amazing....handling is great....comfy and quiet.
I had high expectations and it has exceeded them.
I have owned many trucks, and driven many more.
This is so far above them its not describeable.
Ford has their work cut out for them improving on this for the next model change In a few years.
If i can dream i want a chrome delete option on all trim levels, and a factory supercharger on a v8 with about 550 hp and 550 foot lbs of torque next please Ford.....oh and a dark window tint option for the side windows.
Still having my first ever pickup, a now fully restored to better than new 1974 camper special....and then driving the new truck in the same day shows just how far ford has come.
Things like handling and braking. I bet my 74 needs an extra 100 feet to get stopped at hwy speeds or maybe more. Its handling is laughable as is most of it in comparison.

I've had mine for nearly a month now. All the noted common issues were non existent at delivery. I have no issues to report since. I thought I had a leaky moonroof, but it's leaking into the drains as designed. It's good to hear positive reports. I'm anxious to hook up my boat and see how it does, but I'm waiting to crack that 1000 mile mark. I know, I don't drive it much. Just traded in a 2005 Silverado with only 53,000 miles.

At that rate, it will take you approximately 2.26 total months to reach 1,000 miles. Looks like you still have about 1.26 months left if you've had it a month.

Some math:

120 months (the 10 years you owned a Silverado)/53,000 miles = x months/1,000 miles. X = 2.26 months

Yeah, I would say your math is pretty close. I have just over 500 miles on it now. I foresee driving this one more than my last one though. During the majority of those 10 years, I had a company car. I now longer have that luxury.

ED ZACKERY!!

My 95 4X4 XLT had a 5.0 and it was gutless. that's why I went with the 5.4 on the 05. But this 5.0 kocks the 5.4's arse!

I was just thinking yesterday. That I should create a post with my extreme happiness of my '15 Lariat 2.7. It's so easy for all those with issues to post. But generally people don't take the time to post their satisfaction.

I feel pretty bad for all of those with actual issues with their new trucks. But I know that's just not the case for the majority. Ford certainly has had some hiccups (some very much not acceptable) with the new design but overall, I'd say they hit a grand slam.

I had an 06 XLT 5.0 an 11 3.5 XLT and now a 15 2.7 Lariat, I remember as a child drawing pictures of my dream truck and my '15 exceeds any imagination I ever had, except that it doesn't fly or shoot missiles. :)

I've never owned a luxury vehicle, but I've been in many. And this truck feels like luxury. The look, the feel, the ride, the tech I love the truck and everything about it.

How do you like the 2.7?
I have not driven one yet.
Have tried the 3.5 regular engine.
The 3.5 ecoboost, i have driven several of those.
And several of the 5.0 engines to.
Someday i want to try that boosted 2.7.

Ps. You posted that you had a 2006 with a 5.0....they did not make it then. If you had a V8 engine then it was a 4.6 or 5.4.
