So I've been helping my son in law and daughter with their 2016 F150 Lariat 5.0 - pretty much all the bells and whistles.
I've been working on cars for a loooong time, and I realize that with new technology comes new ways for systems to fail.
But this truck is ridiculous - I have another thread that explains the woes with the misfire codes and the intake manifold runners causing the problem...
This time it threw a code and the engine light came on.
Attached are screen shots of the Forscan data.
I have a sneaky suspicion it is corrosion in the taillights, as I came across this video a few months back:
Likely not the problem. Taillamp water intrusion usually causes problems with the MS-CAN bus resulting is loss of communication and functionalitly of some or all of the modules that use that bus. Engine functions are not effected by this and has nothing to do with the camshaft positon sensor. The P0022 is likely caused by the VCT system. The U3000 code was set by the APIM and likely the result of a low battery SOC at some time (not active when the scan was performed). The B1266 is an electrical failure of the lamp curcuit, not the BLIS module, and was also not present when the scan was performed.
Thanks for the response.
I replaced both VCT solenoids on bank 2 last fall when I was troubleshooting the misfire.
What could be the next possible mode of failure? the cam positioner sensor?
